What is alarming is the fact that this is a tablet pc running a phone OS ... and it can only run software bought from Apple.

And in addition to what you have pointed out:

* The storage is very limited as well (64GB yes but then we are not talking 500USD).

* It does not have USB support (requires very clumsy adapters).

Also this product is not new. There have been reading tablets available for years. Initially they all flopped but Amazon is doing very well with their Kindle these days.
